As a freelance multimedia journalist, I pull a lot of inspiration for my work from my roots. I was born in Yonkers but was more-or-less raised near a highway in the suburbs of North Carolina that we called the "Chicken Strip." That southern hospitality rubbed off on me and primed me to be a fearless journalist with the ability to strike up a conversation with anyone. It also instilled a deep love for fried chicken and biscuits.

Before moving to the city, I worked at The Boston Globe Magazine and The Lynn Daily Item, and have freelanced for The Charlotte Observer among other publications.
